About

Speech practice should not disappear between sessions.

A speech therapy session may last less than an hour. The skill has to survive the rest of the week. For clinicians, partners, applicants and investors.

Why Articu exists

The problem we exist to solve.

Home practice is often difficult to structure, difficult for families to score, and difficult for clinicians to observe. Articu exists to connect the session and the rest of the week—without taking clinical decisions away from the professional.

Mission

Make speech practice more measurable, more localized and more connected to clinical expertise.

We are building a speech intelligence layer that can listen for the details general speech recognition is designed to smooth over—organized around the clinician, not around a demo.

Our approach

Three commitments.

Why clinician-guided

Because clinical judgment is the product, not an obstacle. Assessment, diagnosis, target selection and interpretation belong to qualified professionals.

Why phoneme-level

Because “rabbit” is not enough. The difference between a word understood and a sound produced correctly is exactly where clinical work happens.

Why multilingual localization

Because speech is local. Phoneme inventories, word structures and developmental expectations differ by language—and translated word lists are not localization.

Responsible AI

Principles we build by.

  • Clinicians retain decision authority.
  • Uncertainty is visible.
  • High-risk unsupported outputs are not silently generated.
  • Training data has provenance and consent.
  • Language and dialect differences are not automatically treated as errors.
  • Performance is measured by subgroup.
  • Model changes are versioned.
  • Users can challenge and correct outputs.
  • Human corrections create an audit trail.
  • Limitations are public.

Why now

The technology is finally catching up to the workflow.

Child speech recognition research is advancing, foundation speech models can adapt to new contexts, phoneme-level modeling is becoming accessible, home practice is digitizing, and clinicians need visibility more than ever. Still—no one has solved speech therapy with AI alone, and we will not claim otherwise.

Team

Built with clinicians, from day one.

Articu works with SLP design partners and an advisory process from the start. Team and advisor profiles are published here as roles are announced.

Team profiles will be published with real names and roles.
